A new post!

Thanks to all my faithful readers who are hanging in there with me.  Right now I’m working full-time and taking two summer classes (Anatomy & Physiology II -4 cr  and Nursing Assessment – 3cr) and I swear I have no free time.  I have a lot of homework and studying to do every day.  The good news is that 4 weeks are down and there are 6 weeks to go for the summer session – almost halfway done.  I miss blogging so much.  It had become a regular part of my day.  I did well on my A & P exam yesterday so I decided I would reward myself with a post!  I also caught up reading my favorite blogs and signing up for some freebies this morning. (You should see my stack of FREE magazines waiting to be read.  I must have 40 0r so.)

While I haven’t been posting, I am still hitting the stores for some bargain and freebie shopping each week.  I thought I’d share yesterday evening’s  drugstore shopping adventure which turned out to be a great moneymaker.

Walgreens…. I had a $10 Register Reward that needed to be used.  (This is the one from the cheapie hairdryer a week or two ago.)  I found a cart of clearanced bottled water and ended up buying it all.  I had a $1.00 off Vitamin Water coupon and the $10 Register Reward so I paid just $1.97 with a savings of $48.78 according to my receipt for everything pictured.

CVS…Let me start by saying I used 3 ExtraCare cards for my transactions.  I have a card, my husband has a card, and I have one of my Mom’s keychain cards.  I did a total of 5 transactions.

3 Bayer Contours $14.99 each (will take these to work for uninsured patients)

2 Gillette Fusion Razor Sets $7.99 each (for Roger)

3 CVS Plastic Wrap 200 feet clearanced to .95 each (I love this stuff, it’s my preferred brand - am up to 10 rolls in my stockpile!)

1 three pack Ziploc twistlids containers clearanced to $1.00

2 clearanced notebooks (enviornmentally friendly!) for .99 each (I need these for next semester.  I’m using legal pads now.)

1 clearanced covered notebook 1.99 (Roger wanted this for work)

2 plastic stacking bins clearanced to .87 each

Coupons used:

(3) Contour adjusted to $14.99 each

(2) $4.00 off Fusion

(1) $5.00 Extrabuck

(1) $10.00 Extrabuck

I did pay $3.06 out of pocket and $15 in Extrabucks but I earned $23 back in Extrabucks which makes a profit of $4.94 at CVS and a profit of .97 overall between my Walgreens and CVS transactions. (Mom I have a $5.00 Extrabuck to give you.)

  • I envy your Ziploc container deal – too bad you didn’t have one of those delightful coupons for about 55 cents. Those are my storage container of choice because the screw top = no leakage. Seriously, drooling over that deal!
