Savings Saturday!

I made a few more shopping stops today to grab some last minute deals before tomorrow starts with new weekly sales flyers.  First stop was Petsmart.  I had a coupon for a FREE 5-pound bag of Eukanuba dog food.  Regular price $9.99 – I paid only sales tax of 50 cents. (Sorry about the picture quality.)DSC_0001 On to Dollar General where Kotex panty liners are regularly priced at $1.00 for the 16-count long.  Used (2) $1.00 off Kotex coupons and paid 10 cents for tax.DSC_0003Target has their Cheddar Chex Mix rolled back to $1.79 per bag.  There are printable $1.00 off Chex Target coupons and $.50 off Chex manufacturer’s coupons which brings each bag down to $.29.  I also picked up more of the Degree deodorant and body sprays which also come to $.29 each after Target and manufacturer’s coupons.  Total came to $2.76 for everything and I paid with a giftcard I earned from a prior purchase so no out of pocket!

DSC_0005I went to two different Walgreens because the first store was out of most everything I was looking for.  I lost one of my receipts so I can’t give a to-the-penny report.  On the 3 receipts I do have I spent $1.96 total.  I started out with a $7 Register Reward and ended with $15 in Register Rewards for upcoming purchases.  Nice week at Walgreens!

DSC_0004Last stop was CVS where I spent more than I wanted to out of pocket, but I was able to get my husband more vitamins – another 200 days worth! I also purchased one of the new large Glade soy candles and a smaller one in the same scent.  These will probably be saved for Christmas gifts.  CVS has just not had their usual stealin’ deals the past few weeks.  Hopefully sales will increase as the Christmas holiday nears. I spent last Thanksgiving morning at CVS getting all kinds of free merchandise. The tomato soup was on sale 2 for $1.00 and I had (2) $1.00 off 2 Campbell’s soup coupons – that made for FREE soup!  I purchased one of the green bag tags as well. Every 4 times the tag is swiped, you earn $1.oo ECB.  My out of pocket was $18.95 but I have $10 in ECB’s for next week.DSC_0002We purchased hard candy for Roger to take to work.  At both CVS and Walgreens, their bags are 2 for $3.00.  We discovered the CVS bags are 14-ounces, but at Walgreens they are 21-ounces.  We’ll now be buying it at Walgreens!

We also got more FREE coffee at 7-11 too!  Love the Pumpkin Spice Latte.

  • Don’t forget to submit that CVS receipt for the SC Johnson $5 rebate – you have 3 Glade items conveniently on it. Talk about a moneymaker!

Have you checked to see if your Target price matches? Because they had Chex Mix on sale this week 2/$3, so with the Target $1/1 and the .50/1 IP, it could have saved you a few nickels (hm, which probably wouldn’t have been worth waiting in the customer service line on a Saturday for, so ignore this).

I had a friend do the Degree Fine Fragrance deal for me twice – I think they’ll make a good stocking stuffer for those 15 stockings I committed to donating.

    • What rebate? Where can I find it? Thanks for the heads-up!

I made lots of donations last Christmas. I went thru a lot of my stockpile earlier today, sorting and organizing. You forget what you have. Are you in need of anything in particular?
